To register as a donor at the Eye Bank , one can pay a visit to the Jordan Eye Bank situated
at Jordan University Hospital in Amman or by calling on the mobile number : 00 962 79 6524222
or

Donation is fully optional. It is a well known worldwide process through which International
Eye Banks maintain a continuous source of corneas .
Donation reflects the degree of awareness of the importance of donation and the ability
to help someone in need even after death.
There are about 15000 people already registered at the Jordan Eye Bank as donors till
the end of 2006 and is on the rise .
Harvesting corneas is done within 12 hours of death and is completed within half an hour
after which all the procedures and processes could be carried on.
After the procedure is done the eye is left is a normal shape without any disfigurement.
